Animals Posing Problems

In my final story for News Writing and Reporting II, I covered a few problems that homeless animals threaten communities with. I approached a different angle with this story when it comes to adopting shelter animals. Instead of painting a sad, touching story that compels to adopt stray animals, I wanted to touch on problems like improper breeding, behavioral problems, diseases and overpopulation.

Hayes' Helping Hand

Maria Hayes is a soon to be graduate of St. David's School of Nursing at Texas State University Round Rock. For a study abroad trip, she went to Nicaragua for 11 days to aid in the efforts of providing medication and education on healthcare to rural villages. This story is about her time in Nicaragua.
